2020-01-31 18:59:23, VANCOUVER, BC, (PR Distribution™) – Expeto Wireless Inc. (Expeto), a growth stage venture-backed wireless technology leader, today announced the appointment of Michael Anderson to the company as CEO and its Board of Directors. Mr. Anderson most recently served as Group President & Chief Executive Officer, and Board member, of Networked Energy Services Corporation (NES). Mr. Anderson joined Echelon in 2009 and subsequently led NES’s spinoff from Echelon Corporation in 2014, through its acquisition by S&T AG.
With billions of industrial internet of things (IIoT) connected devices around the world, many enterprises are challenged to effectively manage devices that are located outside of their corporate networks. Expeto simplifies how enterprises connect and manage IIoT applications, devices and their data. Inspired by the flexibility and distributed nature of cloud computing, Expeto is leveraging cloud computing, 5G and IoT technologies to build an entirely new IIoT connectivity solution.
“After an extensive search, we are delighted to have attracted someone with the depth and breadth of experience as Michael,” said Marty Reed, Expeto Board member and Chief Executive Officer of Evok Innovations. “Along with his proven leadership strengths, Michael brings the keen insight, excitement and experience necessary to guide Expeto into the next phase of growth.”
Mr. Anderson added, “I am very excited to join Expeto at this important moment in history. Global enterprise customers are embarking on the digital transformation necessary to unlock new efficiencies and revenue streams for their businesses – leveraging IIoT, cloud computing and mobile network technologies to enable this journey. Expeto’s unique and innovative Enterprise First integration of public and private mobile networks and IIoT applications onto a single platform provides exactly what the industry needs. The Expeto team and I will focus on accelerating global market penetration for our Nextworking platform as a service (PaaS) solution, together with our partners to help lead the way for our customers. Our time is now, and we have tremendous opportunity ahead of us.”
Prior to Echelon and NES, Mr. Anderson was President of Telcordia’s (acquired by Ericsson) Next Generation Solutions business, a global provider of service management and orchestration solutions to both fixed and wireless service providers, from 2004 until joining Echelon. Prior to Telcordia, Anderson served as Senior Vice President of ADC’s software division (acquired by Intec/CSG Systems) providing service assurance and transaction management solutions to the communications and media market segments. Mr. Anderson holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington and completed a fellowship at the Georgetown University Law Center.
Ryley MacKenzie, who has been serving as CEO since founding the company along with Brian Baird and Terje Strand, will transition to serve as Expeto’s Chief Revenue Officer and will continue to serve on the company’s Board of Directors.
